§1535.1. Beryllium.

This standard means this beryllium standard, Section 1535.1. (c) Permissible Exposure Limits (PELs). (1) Time-weighted average (TWA) PEL. The employer must ensure that no employee is exposed to an airborne concentration of beryllium in excess of 0.2 μg/m 3 calculated as an 8-hour TWA. (2) Short-term exposure limit (STEL).

Element Charges Chart

There are four ways to find the charge of an element: Use the periodic table. The usual charge of an element is common to its group. Group 1 (Alkali Metals): 1+. Group 2 (Alkaline Earth Metals): 2+. Groups 3-12 (Transition Metals): Variable positive charges. Lanthanide and Actinide Series: Variable positive charges.

Valences of the Elements Chemistry Table

Here is a table of element valences. Remember that an element's electron cloud will become more stable by filling, emptying, or half-filling the shell. Also, shells don't stack neatly one on top of another, so don't always assume an element's valence is determined by the number of electrons in its outer shell.

E3: Solubility Constants for Compounds at 25°C

Although all compounds have a characteristic solubility in water at a given temperature, some families of compounds are more soluble than others and it is useful to know certain general rules of solubility. We call any substance insoluble its solubility is less than 0.01 mol/L. If its solubility is greater than 0.1 mol/L, we call it soluble.

Physics

Periodic table groups are based on outer shell electrons and how they can be shared between atoms to form chemical bonds. Spectral lines, however, are based on the transitions that electrons make within a single atom. "It makes sense that periodic table groups did not show the same patterns as sounds created from spectral lines," says Linz.

Beryllium

Beryllium is a chemical element with atomic number 4 which means there are 4 protons in its nucleus. Total number of protons in the nucleus is called the atomic number of the atom and is given the symbol Z. The total electrical charge of the nucleus is therefore +Ze, where e (elementary charge) equals to 1,602 x 10-19 coulombs.
